Please be informed that effective November 1, 2026, the margin calculation for hedged positions on index instruments will be updated.
A hedged position refers to holding both Buy and Sell positions with equal lot sizes on the same instrument at the same time.
Affected Instruments: HK50, US100, US30, US500, DAX40, India50, and JP225.
New Margin Requirements
Previously, no margin was required for fully hedged positions with equal Buy and Sell lot sizes.
Under the new rules, these positions will require margin for one side only (1× the standard margin requirement).
Example:
You hold a Buy position of 0.1 lot and a Sell position of 0.1 lot on US100. If the standard margin for 0.1 lot is $110, the total required margin for these hedged positions will be $110, calculated based on one side only.
The margin amount above is for illustration purposes only.
Important Reminder
The new margin requirements will also apply to existing open hedged positions. This means your account's required margin may increase once the changes take effect.
Please ensure you have sufficient available margin and deposit additional funds if necessary before the adjustment takes effect to reduce the risk of margin calls or automatic position liquidation.
